I just love this time of year! I absolutely love all of the mustard that grows around here and it inspired me to do a limited edition session in the fields!

I have a bunch of new ideas that I want to try with newborn babies. So if you or someone you know is having a baby (especially twins or triplets!) in the next three months, give me a call and we can do a “Casting Call” session.

* Babies born between now and May 31 are eligible (Spots may fill up before May 31).

* Babies must be under two weeks old at the time of the session

* Must be able to come to my home-studio on a Tuesday or Thursday between 9:30 and 1:00

* All participants must sign a model release so the pictures can be used in marketing and on my website

Spots for Casting Call sessions are limited so call today so we can get you on the calendar. (I ALWAYS suggest scheduling a newborn session before the baby is born to ensure that we can get portraits taken before they’re two weeks old. And of course, we can reschedule if the baby comes early or late).

I have been completely MIA from this blog for too long! I’ve even had a couple of clients call to make sure I was still around! I am definitely still around, but we’ve MOVED! That’s right, we moved the Saturday before Christmas (crazy, I know!) and I’ve been working like mad to set up my new studio at our new house! I’ll have more information on that later.

I just wanted to give everyone a head’s-up that there are only 5 more days for our Christmas in July special! (Can you believe July is almost over?!?) In case you missed the information on Christmas in July, here’s how it works: book a session by this Friday for any of my available sessions in August or September and you will receive a complimentary set of custom-designed Holiday cards (scroll down a few posts to see some examples of the cards).

I know it’s just the middle of summer and Christmas seems far away — but it will be here before you know it! So I figured it’s time to announce my Christmas in July special!

DETAILS: Any August and September session booked during July (starting today, July 8 through July 31) will receive a complimentary set of 5×7 flat custom-designed holiday cards. (A $94 value!) Newborn sessions will receive birth announcements, while all other sessions will receive Holiday/Christmas cards. Sessions must be booked and paid for up front.

THE CONTEST: Along with your holiday cards, each booked session will also be entered into the contest. The winner will be picked on July 31.

THE PRIZE: The winner of the contest will receive a $150 print/product credit (That’s like getting the session for free!)

I’ve had a lot of inquiries lately about when I’m doing beach portraits this year. So here you go! I will be holding beach sessions from October 13-17. Usually one session in the morning and one session in the evening. This year I’m including a set of holiday cards with your session fee! The sessions will be at Capitola Beach (just a few miles from Santa Cruz). Last October I did sessions at Capitola and I fell in love! This location has the obvious sand and surf, but also has a great pier and some awesome buildings with brightly-colored stucco. It really gives that feeling of a quaint beach town. There’s so much variety there!

Sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and they usually fill up fast! This is the only time I will be doing beach sessions this year.

Well, it’s hard to believe, but I have officially been in business for 5 years! (Well, it was official in April, but I’ve been to busy to celebrate!) And thanks to all of my fabulous clients who have made it possible for me to do what I love, I am going to have my first ever month-long special. During the entire month of June, all frames will be 25% off — including the ever-popular hand-painted frames! 

And don’t worry if you aren’t doing a session in June! You can still take advantage of this special. For those of you who did sessions in the past and whose portraits are still in the BOX (You know who you are!) now is a great time to get them framed and hung! And if you are planning on doing a session in the future and would like to take advantage of this special, you can purchase a gift card for a specific amount and it will be worth 25% more than your purchase price (so for example, if you bought a $100 gift card, it would actually be worth $125).
